Sealing Systems

CP offers pumps with a magnetic coupling or double mechanical seal.

Magnetic coupling – The specialty of CP

Magnetic drive pumps have no shaft seal, with drive torque being transmitted by a permanent magnetic synchronous coupling (magnetic drive). This sealless design offers tremendous advantages in all industries where fluid leakage must be avoided at all costs. That is why magnetic drive pumps are the standard type of pump offered by CP and are considered essential in virtually all industrial processes. Here to the CP pump catalogue

Double mechanical seal

Double mechanical seal pumps use a double mechanical sealing system on the drive shaft. The first seal isolates the pumped fluid from the barrier/buffer fluid, while the second provides a seal between the barrier/buffer fluid and the atmosphere. In case one of the two seals fails, the other will prevent the pumped fluid from leaking out. This design offers vital advantages in industries that handle hazardous and corrosive liquids containing large amounts of solid particles. EB, ET, ZMP

FuturaTef® und FuturaMik®

CP supplies the PFA lined EB centrifugal pump with the FuturaTef® double mechanical seal and the ceramic lined ET with the FuturaMik® double mechanical seal. Both these sealing systems feature high-grade ceramic (SSiC) seal faces and a metallic shaft sleeve ensuring zero leakage. The spring assembly never comes into contact with the pumped medium. A barrier/buffer fluid in the mechanical seal lubricates the seal faces and simultaneously provides sealing integrity, preventing both the springs and the O-ring located on the atmospheric side from clogging or sticking.
