Up high with safety - MSKPP, sealless, magnetically coupled centrifugal pump made of solid PTFE

Today's blog is the third in a series of three short presentations of sealless, magnetic drive pumps from CP pump systems' PTFE and PVDF solid plastic range. Just like all CP pumps, the full plastic pumps are designed for demanding pumping tasks and high requirements of the chemical and numerous other industries.

The MSKPP is a single-stage centrifugal pump with a special range of applications and uses. Small volumes and large delivery heads are the main tasks of the MSKPP. It is equipped with a peripheral impeller. Ideally suited for particularly demanding metering and injection tasks with highly corrosive media. The MSKPP covers a range from 0.1 to 8 m3/h and a delivery head of 160 m and can be used between -20°C and +100°C.

In contrast to the characteristic curve of ordinary centrifugal pumps, the characteristic curve of a peripheral impeller pump does not flatten out with decreasing delivery volume. Rather, the characteristic curve is a straight line with maximum head at zero delivery and zero head at maximum delivery. The only special feature and technical limitation are solids in the medium to be pumped. Due to its design, these are not desirable for the functioning of the peripheral impeller.

The pump housing is made of thick, vacuum-resistant, corrosion- and diffusion-resistant solid polymer. The use of PTFE with carbon filler means that no electrostatic charges are generated on the housing. The MSKPP is alternatively available in virginal PTFE or PVDF. Depending on the model size, the MSKPP is available as a bearing bracket or monoblock version. This makes it easy to use for mobile applications.

The magnetically coupled, sealless and hermetically sealed MSKPP is used in applications where small quantities have to be pumped at higher pressure. One of these exceptional applications is the pumping of bromine or high-grade organometallic tin compounds. But also applications in the pharmaceutical industry where only very small quantities have to be pumped are covered by the MSKPP. Of course, less demanding media such as sulfuric, nitric, hydrochloric or acetic acid are also used in various concentrations. But also alkaline media like caustic soda are frequent media that are pumped.

In addition to the large chemical companies, customers from the electronics industry, the contract manufacturing of organic intermediates and also from the pharmaceutical sector are recurring customers of MSKPP.
